"Year after Year…" – BVB family again fulfils Kids Christmas wishes
Children probably yearn for Christmas more than any other celebration during the year. Spending the "dark" season in candlelight, baking cookies together or just being given presents by Santa Claus - all of these are certainly events that every child associates with Christmas.
Of course, this anticipation is also shared by socially disadvantaged children, whose parents do not have the necessary financial means to buy their children extensive Christmas presents. And it is precisely for these children, who there are still unfortunately too many of in Dortmund, that the BVB family has been dedicated for several years together with non-profit association interAktion and its project “Kinderwünsche.”
The aim of the initiative is to give Christmas joy to children in need. With this in mind, the Christmas trees in Dortmund fan shops and in the BVB office have once again been "decorated" with many wish-lists of children, who are threatened by poverty. Once again, the wishes of interAktion were collected in social institutions and registered for the project. This ensures that the wishes of disadvantaged children hang on the Christmas trees. Special thanks once again go to the members of the BVB fan department, who are playing an outstanding part this year in the organization and implementation of the Christmas campaign.
All BVB fans are also cordially invited to fulfil a child’s wish from the envelopes. In this way, the "black and yellow family" can help Dortmund children have a great Christmas and brightly light up children's eyes. All BVB players will again participate in 2019, as they did last year. Some of the children will not only get their wish from Santa Claus, but from a BVB player as well.
If you want to take part in the “Kinderwünsche” campaign, please note the following points:
- A gift should not exceed 25 euros in value
- Please leave the gifts unpacked
- Please do not give away used goods
- Unfortunately, sweets or other food may not be given away
- Present the gifts by 5 December in the BVB office or in all BVB fan shops in Dortmund
- Every wish list has a number at the top and bottom right. It is imperative that this number is noted on the gift, otherwise it cannot be assigned to the correct child
Borussia Dortmund and the BVB Foundation "leuchte auf” “light up” wish you a wonderful pre-Christmas period and would like to thank all BVB fans who take part in the "Kinderwünsche" campaign!
