The amount of construction work in Dortmund has caused major disruption for fans getting to and from home games in recent weeks. A lot of away fans are also expected for the home match against VfL Bochum on Saturday 5 November. We therefore strongly recommend that fans either arrive very early (and be patient on their way home) or use public transport.

The tried and tested derby concept for getting to and from the stadium by bus and train will be in use once again. This means a good match day service on public transport for both BVB fans and away fans, with changes at the central railway station as well as the "Westfalenhallen" and "Stadion" stops.

U45/U46: "Stadion" for BVB fans, "Westfalenhallen" for away fans

BVB fans should take the U45 tram line (from the central train station "Hauptbahnhof") to the "Stadion" stop. The U46 (from Brunnenstraße/Brügmannplatz) will terminate at the "Polizeipräsidium" stop.

The "Westfalenhallen" stop on the U45 line is reserved exclusively for away fans. Line 450 (Westfalenhallen – Schanze) will be diverted as a result. After the match, trams will not stop at the "Gersdorfstraße" and "Remydamm" stops.

Hauptbahnhof: south for BVB fans, north for away fans, bus line restrictions

The northern entrance at the Hauptbahnhof leading to S-Bahn trains will be open exclusively to away fans. BVB fans should use the southern entrance at the Hauptbahnhof.

Due to the large number of fans arriving and transferring at the main station, long waiting times are expected. Due to the safety precautions and the additional services running to the stadium, capacity on other lines will be somewhat reduced in the short term. Therefore, there may be disruptions on all S-Bahn lines.

Due to the transport concept, there will be restrictions on bus lines 412, 452, 453, 455, 456 and 475 in the area of the Hauptbahnhof throughout the day. These routes will follow a detour and will not stop at the "Hauptbahnhof" and "Kurfürstenstr." stops (towards Uhlandstraße). A temporary stop will be set up on Grüne Straße where it meets Kurfürstenstraße.

Combined match and transport tickets

BVB match tickets are also valid for one round-trip on public transport on match day. However, an extra bus or train ticket has to be redeemed free of charge. This can be done here.
