"We're obviously not satisfied with the result. We had the chances to win the game," said head coach Edin Terzic directly after the 1-1 draw against Mainz 05.

"We set out with high hopes and absolutely wanted to pick up the three points," said Terzic. "Unfortunately, we didn't manage it. We need to analyse this now. We don't have much time because our next match against Leverkusen is coming up on Tuesday."

The coach continued: "Ultimately, you need chances in order to score goals. We had them today, especially in the first half. But we must also pay a compliment to Mainz, because they defended with great passion. There were times where we tried to force the ball through their compact defence. In the first half, we succeeded in switching sides. That consistently allowed us to get into dangerous areas. Unfortunately, we did not get our reward for that in the form of a goal. The start of the second half was not satisfactory, because we were slightly too hectic and chaotic at that point." (tl)
