What a masterclass from Achraf Hakimi! The Morocco international was the star of the show as Borussia Dortmund ran out comfortable winners against Holstein Kiel in the second round of the Bundesliga Home Challenge. His team-mate Erné Embeli was unlucky to lose 3-1 to Cihat Korkmaz in the first match, but Hakimi made up for Embeli's slip-up with a dominant 6-1 victory over fellow player Dominik Schmidt.

The Bundesliga Home Challenge, a FIFA 20 tournament organised by the German Football League (DFL) that kicked off last weekend, sees a player from the professional squad of each team and a YouTuber or e-sports player representing each club go head to head on the console. The Black & Yellows were up against Holstein Kiel this time out, having drawn their opening fixture 3-3 against Mainz 05 last weekend

Much like last week, BVB were represented by the duo of Embéli and Hakimi. YouTuber Embeli, who went into his clash with Holstein's e-sports player Cihat Korkmaz as the underdog, found himself 2-0 down by the half-time interval. Erling Haaland then halved the deficit for BVB, only for Korkmaz to make it 3-1 and wrap up the victory for Kiel.

That result left Achraf Hakimi, who was up against Kiel centre-back Dominik Schmidt, needing to overturn a two-goal deficit. But he appeared entirely unperturbed by the task at hand and, in the first half especially, showed that he was well worthy of the win over his fellow player. A hat-trick from Marco Reus, a strike from Erling Haaland and a brace from his own avatar saw the Black & Yellows run out clear winners, with the Moroccan only beaten once when he conceded a consolation goal in stoppage time. That meant that the score was 6-1 by the time the final whistle sounded, making for an aggregate result of 7-4 to Dortmund.

"The opening goal made the whole game easier. It all happened automatically after that. It was one goal after the next," said Hakimi of the match. As for his own avatar's performance, Borussia's No. 5 said: "I'm totally satisfied with him. He worked well and scored two goals. But he needs to continue to work hard on himself for the upcoming games." The same applies to whoever comes up against Hakimi and Hakimi, especially if they keep improving...
