The Borussia Dortmund U23s have strenghtened themselves for next season with the acquisition of winger Berkan Taz. The 22-year-old moves from third-tier SC Verl on a free transfer to join the current Regionalliga West leaders. He has signed an initial one-year deal at BVB.

The attacking player received his footballing education at Hertha Zehlendorf and Union Berlin, where he made one appearance in the Bundesliga 2. He then moved to Energie Cottbus in 2019 before switching to newly-promoted third-tier club SC Verl last summer. Taz made 14 appearances for the East Westphalians, scoring four goals and providing three assists. "Berkan is an attacking player who offers excellent dribbling and a goal threat. He can play in a variety of offensive roles. We're delighted that he's chosen to join us,'' said BVB team manager Ingo Preuss.

Berkan Taz is the second summer signing for the BVB U23s after Ted Tattermusch.
