The BVB Evonik Soccer Academy promptly opened its doors at the start of the Easter holidays to all enthusiastic young footballers...

The courses for outfield players and goalkeepers enjoyed great popularity and were all already fully booked up after only a short time. The weather also showed its best side and the kids were able to play on the academy's Astroturf pitches in sunshine and summer temperatures. Intensive training sessions, exciting half time breaks and a great deal of first hand tips and tricks were guaranteed on the course which ran for four days over Easter. The young footballers regained their strength, having meals together in one of the VIP lounges of the SIGNAL IDUNA PARK, while exchanging feedback over what they had learned and forming many new friendships.

Of course, during the holiday courses it's also a matter of always showing the kids that football is fun, while supporting and encouraging them in their social togetherness. In particular, 13-year-old Lyndon Palmer showed us that football can become a huge passion, again travelling with his father from Hakdal in Norway (612 flight miles away) to take part in the Easter goalkeeping course. He didn't have to think long when asked what he especially liked about the BVB Evonik Soccer Academy: "I always receive a heartily welcome. I feel like a part of the BVB family here!" Marco (6) and Jannick (10) will also probably not forget for a while taking part in the Easter course for outfield players. Their football-crazy mum recently sent the invoice for the entire course fees in to a radio station - and...WON! The station paid for all the costs of both young footballers on the holiday course. That's a genuine reason to celebrate, not just on the pitch!

It was especially apparent for the BVB Evonik Soccer Academy team that football connects, makes new friendships and knows no boundaries!
