The first BVB holiday course at the German School Tokyo Yokohama (DSTY) was a big success. During five days of glorious weather in the autumn holidays, football was played with joy and endeavour.

On the first Monday of the holidays, 17 children gathered with great anticipation for the first BVB holiday course held on the artificial turf pitch of the DSTY. They were welcomed by Black & Yellow music and two coaches from BVB. After the coaches had explained the programme and the rules of the holiday course, the children were allowed to go into the changing room and put on their new course jerseys. Freshly kitted out, they went out onto the pitch and started their first training session. This initial session was followed by eight more over the course of the week.

Each day, the youngsters were given new areas to focus on. This resulted in a lot of variety and fun, not to mention plenty of new challenges. The children were given a delicious lunch between the day's two training sessions to make sure they had enough energy to tackle all activities. Before the second training session of the day, there were different half-time activities every day. In the half-hour activities, the children learned about other aspects of football - such as trust, togetherness and skill - through fun and games.

The first BVB holiday course at the German School Tokyo Yokohama came to a close with a big final tournament. At the end, not only the winners of the tournament could be proud of themselves, but every single child who took part. The coaches were delighted with the children's performances and are already looking forward to the next BVB holiday courses at the DSTY.
